    Lets talk 300WSM bullets

I have two 300wsm's in the closet, one loves 168 accubonds with 64gr of RL17. The other prefers 180 accubonds with 64gr of hybrid 100. Every gun is different, takes lots of patience and lots of trips to the range to dial things in!

    Tag your animal immediately!

I've heard of one major land owner in that area just waiting to catch that warden on his land, they've rubbed elbows in the past!!!

    buffalo bullet

If you go to MT fish and game website, there is excellent info on shot placement when hunting buffalo. The heart and the brain shot are the most effective and recommended shot placements. I have been on two buffalo hunts where only archery equipment were used, shot placement is crucial.

I had two of the BFC members watch me harvest my buffalo in the West yellowstone area last winter, as my son hiked out to get a snowmobile back to us the two BFC members thanked him for my choice of hunting ethically. I used archery equipment and the cow buffalo only traveled about 15 yards...

    Bison migration question?

Do any bison still migrate into the porcupine area around Big Sky? I can remember seeing them years ago during the late season archery hunts. Just wondering if anyone has seen them in that area recently. Thanks...

    Buffalo on the move!!!

There was about 100 that had moved out of the park at the beginning of the season, 54 of them were taken mostly by reservation hunters. I don't know if the rest went back into the park or are hung up on private land. It was minus 35 degrees in West yellowstone yesterday morning, lots of snow...

    Buffalo on the move!!!

Looks like the buffalo are starting to migrate out of Yellowstone Park, with reports of 53 being harvested so far! Good luck to all of the permit holders this year, a truly unique experience that Montana has to offer.

    Good load for 300wsm

I've been plaint with two 300 wsm's for about a year, one really likes 64g of rl17 with 165/168 grain noslers, the other starting shooting really well with 64g of hybrid 100 and 180 grain noslers. My suggestion would be to reload a few and take them to the range and shoot them through a chrono...
