    Rifle Caliber Recommendation - 270/308/30-06

All 3 will kill an elk….hit em right where you need to and it won’t be a problem. I’ve killed em with all 3. Bullet choice is really key. I don’t think you could go wrong with any one of them because there are tons of reloading/manufactured ammo choices. .30-06 does get you into some heavier...

    Colorado bull elk GMU 22

Every time I end up down in CO I always wonder why we are just gluttons for punishment!! Last time we were there, we were packing meat out and saw a group of 8 bow hunters in one party about 1/2 mile from trailhead just beat…. None of which looked to remotely be in shape. We do usually end up...

    Elk bullet in Grizzly country

i just hunt with what ever caliber/ bullet that shoots and performs well on elk/ deer. Being smart in bear country goes a long way!! I never carry a pistol and spray and a rifle. Figure my rifle is enough… if I am packing meat, scouting, or hiking with my wife then i have a chest carry pistol...

    Best all arround scope

I’m pretty big on leupold rifle scopes. I have a zeiss and like it but leupold is my favorite by far! Spotters and binos I like some other stuff but for rifle scopes Leupold has my vote

    Entry/Mid range Binoculars

I think either one would be fine. Don’t be afraid of a well taken care of used or demo pair if you can step up in quality. Good glass is hard to beat

    New Boots

Schnee granite and beartooth. Love em both I have a light pair of crispi lapponia as well that have been good so far but they are for early or just plain hiking.

    Boot delima

The search for the perfect boot is never ending……I have owned and wore out 2 pair of Schnees boots and several other hiking style boots. I also have a pair of Crispis that I like very well and a pair of kennetreks that I am mediocre about. I guess with all of them I have the right aftermarket...

    Recomendation for a Cat hunt.

Tangle Ridge outfitters out of Greybull, WY. Brent is a good friend. His son heads up the lion stuff but both are down to earth honest hard working people.

    Are suppressors over rated?

I could care less about whether the animal hears the gun or not. I seem to shoot better with it on, I’m sure because less noise, but maybe better harmonics and a more even recoil. (If that makes sense). The one I use for hunting has a little recoil reduction, but to me the advantage is that he...

    Suppressor Opinions

Dead Air XC TI is great. I like the Scythe Ti too , I don’t think you could go wrong with either for a light weight setup. I do not own one but some guys like the Banish Backcountry as well.

    CVA accura sight recommendations

Williams western precision sight are easy to adjust and ones I have adjust for both windage and elevation. I put the fiber optic front post inside the globe to help a bit with low light.

    New pack recommendations

I really like my EXO…. Have an older one and it’s great…..I’m sure the K4 is great too. I have a smaller Kuiu pack for just hiking and scouting but I question the durability over time.

Tell me about the Tikka T3

I have an older one and I know several guys that have them and absolutely love them. Haven’t heard of anyone with ignition problems and they seem very accurate. The one I have is in .308 and will reliable shoot 5 shot 3/4”-7/8” groups…..not too shabby for a light rifle and I just use factory...

    Turkey Troubles

there are turkey callers and turkey killers….. woodsmanship skills will get you way further than any guy standing on a stage throwing out every call known to man. Be good with a call but you don’t have to be perfect. Learn the area, what the birds are doing, where they usually go when they...

Are tungsten turkey loads worth the money?

A good shot at the head and neck at 30 yds and in with a full choke with lead it will be a dead bird every time. When you start getting 40+ yards a bit tighter choke and heavier shot will be worth the money. I still use the federal heavyweight shot which is just a tick less dense than tss and...
