Thanks for the reply and no its not a cop out. I to think time in the field is the best. I'm just looking for a starting point. Southwest portion would be closest for me but I'm willing to travel further into the state if need be. I just don't know where to start. I really don't...
Looking for information on the best OTC tag areas for Idaho Elk. Looking for both archery and rifle, bull or cow. Would really like to take my son on his first elk hunt and found out a few days ago that Idaho had lowered the age limit. Of course he would be hunting with a rifle for his first...
Thanks for the information. Reading regs for different States can get confussing fast. I'm going to archery hunt for next year so it sounds like I need to put in for these tags. Is that correct?

I want to go to Montana next year and hunt Elk and Deer during the Archery season. I have a place to go in unit 411. I just dont know if I have to draw or just purchase the General Big Game Combo license. It gets confusing when reading the book. Was hoping some one here could shed some light...
We looked at that and the mine will let you hunt on the land they have. You just have to check in with them. I think we should do good. Thanks for all the help.

Thanks for the info on presure. Hopefully we will find them on the BLM and state lands. All I know is Oct can't get here soon enough.
We will just bone them out and throw them in a cooler with Ice. We might use a meat locker if we have the time and if there is a good one in town.
Will be headed out Wy first part of October. Drew 2 deer doe tags for 22 and got 5 lope tags for 26. Called all the land owners I had on my list and they are all booked up for the season and I will not pay a guide to hunt so I guess that leaves me with public land. I know there isn't much but...
I also have 2 deer doe tags for 22 and antelope for tags 26. Seems like there is some public land but not alot. Hopefully we will be able to fill our tags. It seems like all the ranches are booked and I refuse to pay a guide. Should be a fun trip. Any info you could provide would be helpful.
