Not sure what ur talkin about. I drew my deer tag last year, when I was ready. Could have drawn it earlier if I wanted. Worked out fine. As for sheep, lope & elk I rarely, if ever, say anything because my choices change annually based season dates & the rest of my schedule. And the odds are so low.
Finally did my appl last night. It takes me longer than any state due to the five choices/species. My strategy was to pick all five longshots for deer because if I ever burn my 17 I’ll have little motivation to stay in the game despite 26 both sheep, 8 elk & 25 pronghorn. Only a slight chance...
I’m playin with house money anyway since drawing w/1% chance in New Hampshire 2013. I got a pretty good 53 1/2” DIY bull that year. Most the bulls up there are all tines, but mine had big paddles. Will let my resident step-nephew in Lewiston shoot this one if I ever do draw.
My 2nd & 3rd choices are always off range. Sometimes all three. At 65, if I ever draw, I'll probably mix hunting on foot, and driving around to give my body a break.
The first year I applied the NR draw odds for VV were 15% and I drew as 1st choice. Much has changed since then. These days I just want the draw to post so I can get my money back. Expecting 5 reds as usual.
NR with max convoluted points (150?), submitted my one chance early as usual. The one good thing about this system is I don't have to be concerned with overlapping hunts due to the tag swap deal. Anyone know if any more of the NR quota was pissed away to outfitter welfare this year? I don't...
I really don’t think so. The species reintroduction results are being recognized as the most successful on the planet. If they continue to multiply at the same rate they have been, the population should exceed 100k by 2030.
Forky, Yes they have an iron rice bowl pension system, but welfare, food stamps, unemployment are rare to non-existent. And they certainly don’t have communes nor land redistribution any longer. Those are in the distant 1976 past. Thus, communism is long gone there.
Again, I certainly don’t defend their government. Just pointing out a fact about its totalitarianist political system. It’s only communist in name (CCP), not in policy.
No that was not me. I did not comment about any freedoms, and certainly don’t defend their actions. Just pointing out a fact about their totalitarianist political system.

I think most people don’t know how the real world works, because they haven’t been there. I have. Many times over ten years. But did see an interesting news article last week trying to educate viewers on terminology & labels. The term China and Chinese people...
Based on what I’ve gathered, China doesn’t even have a F&G Dept yet. I have a cousin in Chengdu who belongs to their city archery club. He says the only hunting the club members do is for wild hogs in the mountains. It is not legal, but some members go anyway. I’ll be finding out more now that...
I have a new dream hunt. Although there is not yet a season, Milu deer repopulation in China has been an outstanding wildlife success story. From zero to 12,000 in 40 years. I just retired and the wife and I will live in our Sichuan home 4 months/year, Indiana home 8 months/year. Hoping an...
