.300Wby Mag handloaded Hornady 200gr. ELD-X. I wanted to work up a load with a 200gr. Nosler Partition or AccuBond, but they proved almost impossible to find. This was my first time loading the ELD-X. I was very impressed with the accuracy and on game performance.

This company makes kits for frames using 1” EMT. I use one of their kits and 1” EMT frame for my Montana Canvas 12’x14’ wall tent. Does a great job.
There are guys that hunt whitetail their entire lives that will never take a buck larger than 130”. There are also guys that wouldn’t even consider shooting a 130” because they consider it too small. It’s all about where you hunt. That’s a nice looking buck. He would look great on the wall...
I will second using the Drawing Odds tables on the Wyoming Game & Fish website. There are some units in the eastern part of the state that are mostly private that are easy to draw. If you do a little research and are willing to pay a small trespass fee access is easy to obtain. Some of these...
The HS Precision stock is a $400 upgrade, add in the Ceracote and brake (another $300-$400), the Leupold scope and mounts and the Randy Newberg Signature Howa is a great value. The Howa has a well deserved reputation for excellent out of the box accuracy.
I bought my son an American in .243 Winchester as his first rifle. It is a great shooter, with or without a bipod. The only load we have ever fired in it is factory loaded 100 grain Winchester Power Point. As long as the shooter does their part the rifle will consistently produce 3/4” groups...
I love my .257Wby. I’ve shot several deer and antelope with it...including the buck in my profile picture. All of them have been dramatic one shot kills. There is almost no recoil. The first whitetail I shot with a .257Wby was taken with a 100 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip. I watched a cloud of...
I have really enjoyed going through all of the pictures and posts on this thread. I have only hunted elk once myself, and didn’t take a bull. Hopefully I will get to do it again soon and tag a bull next time.
The picture below is a bull a local hunter brought into the meatcutter while I was...
