Ha.....both were over 300" net. As a long time official measurer, I can tell you most of the "380-400" or nothing" guys that come here shoot the first 330-340" bull believing it's bigger. That's reality.
I live here, buddy and know what are the real low/mid tier units. I have a NR hunting partner that has drawn 2 archery bull tags in that amount of time (15 years) for a low/mid tier unit…..both times yielded P&Y class bulls. Understand the stats and the respective archery hunts available and...
Ha….okay. Just saying the true low/mid tier units are still low/mid tier units that can be drawn with less than 15 points. Chances are they were never a true low-mid tier unit, at least as for as archery units.
Jim was the master, IMO. A true craftsman ahead of his time. Mine is 57# at 29”. Just a bit too much for my fingers nowadays. My new stalker is 44# at 29”……really nice to shoot and I dare say the speed is about the same as my older bows.
I’ve known South for years and he’s a big supporter of P&Y…....and I needed a lower poundage nowadays. My Brackenbury (built by Jim) was a bit much to shoot comfortably today. Has nothing to do with age though. 😂
