When we will get the last 1/2 hour of hunting back???

I'm pretty sure we aren't going to get that time back yooper. There may be other explanations, but I think that's just what we've got to put up with when beaurocrats start meddling in duck season. Another thing that bothers me is that here we don't allow Sunday hunting, but Sundays are still...

I'm pretty new here myself, but I have enjoyed this site so far. I don't even bother with the other forums anymore because of all the bickering. I've watched it develop on other forums that I have seen some of these guys on. Maybe we all got tired of that stuff. The point is to remember why...

Coon habitat

It's good to know there's some somewhere. I went last night and treed two...up the same tree. Shot one for the dog and left one for seed. Oh, yeah yooper, I'll be in touch. It's too late for this year, but it's time to be planning my trips for next year. Thanks for the insight.

Considering that I love to coon hunt while the hunting is getting tougher here every year it may still be something to consider in the future. That is certainly cheaper than a big game hunt, and I could even be hunting my own dog. I'd love to get up there and see that country sometime anyway...

That's what I'm talking about GatoMan. I'd like to find a cheap plane ticket and a rental truck up that way, coons have gotten somewhat scarce around here. If that doesn't work then maybe yooper and bcat can work out a trade. Coons for cats?

Thanks again! Michele, or bcat, either one, can you tell me how the Wyoming winter has been. I am tentatively planning a deer hunt out there with some friends who went last year. I had heard this was going to be a tough winter for them.

What type of ducks and geese does your state have?

In a good year in NC we can see(and hopefully get shots on): Black Ducks GW/BW Teal Wood Ducks Mallards Widgeon Pintails Brant Tundra Swans Snow Geese Bluebills Bufflehead Ringnecks Redheads Canvasbacks Gadwalls Goldeneyes and Sea Ducks (Oldsquaw, Scoters) Just depends on the weather.

Considering that you are in Wyoming and I am in the Coastal Plain of North Carolina, I might have a hard time giving you a good answer, but I'll try. Corn is the best planting just for coons, but if that won't work where you are, I might think about trees or bushes that bear mast. Crab apples...

Robo-ducks: Yea.... or Nea?

I have hunted with a robo duck in the potholes of Saskatchewan where birds swarm like flies and I have hunted with one here in NC where the hunting runs from poor to outstanding and I personally don't have much use for them. I really don't have a big ethical problem with them, but the results...
