Seems I heard that Utah is instituting some draw hunts that are iron sighted rifle only. If you were going to put together a rifle for one of these hunts what sights would you use?
Rear peep and some sort of globe front I'm guessing, but which specifically?
I want to take some precise measurements of a wildcat chambered barrel I recently acquired.
Is a chamber cast worth it or will the casting agent shrink enough to make this inaccurate?
Has anyone bought/used CH dies in recent years?
I read on their website there was a change in ownership (not exactly sure what that was) in 2022. I need a set for wildcat caliber and just wondering if the quality is still there.
So I've read and seen where folks are dead set on removing a rebounding hammer from their lever action rifles. What do you gain by removing it if it's already there?
Just wondering if the expense of removing it is worth it.
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the current production wood and blued model 70s? Specifically the Safari Express model.
How is their off the shelf quality, dependability, accuracy, fit/finish, etc?
Thanks.
A few season back Randy mentioned doing a show on a planned caribou and ptarmigan hunt in Alaska - the Brooks Range IIRC. Anybody know if the hunt/show ever materialized?
That's kind of a bucket list hunt for me and was really looking forward to it.
I'm thinking of having an old tang safety Ruger M77 .30-06 rebarreled and am looking at having Pac-Nor Barrels in Oregon do the work.
Anybody have personal experience with their barrels and the quality of their work?
Thanks!
Just finished watching Randy's day-by-day mountain goat hunt on YouTube. As usual a great hunt to watch and always cool when friend come together to help someone fill their tag!
Congrats Randy! Dandy of a goat.
Misery loves company they say.
I had finally bocked my first trip to South Africa, scheduled for this August. It was kind of surreal from March when I booked until early July when we finally had to admit it wasn't going to happen this year. Now that August is almost here it's really hitting...
Just a spin on Jim's thread on flintlocks. How many of you shoot/hunt with traditional percussion or musket cap guns? Post up some picture of them.
Mine's an TC Renegade I bought in the early '80s.
Howdy All,
I've been a long time lurker and figured it was about time I joined in the fun.
I live in north Idaho and enjoy hunting, fishing and camping. But hunting is my real passion - traditional bowhunting and muzzleloading especially. I also have a couple of bird dogs and enjoy chasing...
