I want to take some precise measurements of a wildcat chambered barrel I recently acquired.

Is a chamber cast worth it or will the casting agent shrink enough to make this inaccurate?

People do it all the time and I guess I can't say I've heard of casting shrinkage. Someone will be along to tell you how to do it right.

Thanks for the reply Grizz. I have heard anything either, but I've never casted a chamber so thought I'd ask.

If you plan on doing it yourself the product you will need is called "Cerrosafe" available from Brownells.
It's a low temp alloy, just follow the directions. You'll do fine

Thanks, MW. That's what I am planning to use. They have a very specific shrinkage/expansion table, but I have never used it to verify that.
