I don't disagree with the others, but this something you should talk with an advisor with, or do a lot of studying. How you build your IRAs depends a lot on your circumstances and needs. A large growth fund like SCHG might be appropriate for you, but it would be totally inappropriate for me...

    A Quack to remember

I take it Sage is still repairing the XP? They couldn’t do anything about my LL.

    Never bone out shoulder again

Ironically, I went down to dinner and DW had cooked up some antelope flat irons. We didn’t take the big inner sinew out so they were a little thicker, but you did have to cut the meat off that piece of sinew.

Before you boil up all those blades, try taking the flat-iron steak out of them.

    A Quack to remember

Not much of an XP person, but I cried after I watched my 30 year old custom LL do a suicide fall into a closing car door. I haven't found a replacement... However, I've been finding some good deals on ebay on other rods. I think I own seven 8 wts now...

    Withdrawal calculator

I think it depends, with the caveat that you have sufficient funds and a really good reason, such as avoiding the ACA subsidy cliff. But rather than spending more time on it I'll just say that if you want to retire early look into the advantages of a Roth and see if it applies to your situation.

    Withdrawal calculator

This is not true at all. You can withdraw your contributions (not earnings) after a five year period. For example, do a couple big Roth conversions when you are younger, pull that amount out when you retire before 59 1/2. When you turn 59 1/2 you can draw from a traditional IRA up to the tax...

No, what I’m saying is that once you hit Medicare you don’t have to worry about losing your ACA subsidy.

What are you guys paying for gas?

Naw, they just have you trapped. Same thing happens in West Yellowstone. Yet, none of the isolated towns around MT have prices like that.

Thanks for the recs, I have a few more I want to see, but the wife is back so it’s back to the tamer stuff.

What are you guys paying for gas?

Yellowstone Park effect. Gas was $4.89 in Gardiner, but $4.29 in Bozeman, which is only 80 miles away.

    Need a movie…

I cried watching Open Range. You know, during that part in the beginning where he throws down the saddle with the rifle still in the scabbard :d

I think I’ll do Duvall in Open Range tonight. But I have another week for more

    Need a movie…

My wife is away so I can watch the guy movies. I’ve seen Outlaw Josey Wales and Tombstone like a million times already. Just did Private Ryan and Band of Brothers. Any other ideas?

    Never bone out shoulder again

I don’t have a decent smoker, but I just did a mule deer shoulder (actually arm) in the oven. Coat with salt pepper, throw in a Dutch oven with about 1” water, cook 8 hours at 240F. Throw in your favorite veggies at seven hours if you wish, but I just pour chokecherry syrup over it.

Methinks you are over thinking it. For health insurance costs you only have to make it to 65, then Medicare will kick in. My main point is that people that want to retire early should be thinking of ways to get a big Roth in addition to however they were planning on funding their retirement...

    Withdrawal calculator

That’s where the Roth comes in. You supplement your taxable income with it because it doesn’t add to your MAGI. You keep your taxable income below 4x poverty so you get a decent subsidy to help pay for health insurance. Otherwise the insurance for my wife and I would run about $20k/year for the...
