I have an 8 twist on my 270, was considering playing with some. I don’t think it would push them fast enough to have the issues some people have had up close
The only complaint I’ve heard about the 6.8 western is the lack of rifles/ammo options. If Hornady had designed the same thing and marketed it the cartridge would probably be killing it right now. You probably got a good one, 7 prc performance in a short action!

I wouldn’t hesitate on those vipers listed above or bx4’s if you can find a pair in your price range. I’ll also throw in maven c series. You should be able to find some in that $350 range, especially if you hunt around on RS
Gotta find a set of see through rings, you can still find weaver ones for the dovetail. Burris makes some decent regular rings if you don’t want the see through. I have a speedmaster I need to get around to putting the scope on, I was able to find one of the Japanese weaver 4x’s on Rokslide
