    Retiring in the Pacific Northwest

This is part of the question presented in their briefing by the appellants in this Supreme Court case. Please take a closer look at the law. It's pretty outrageous. "Viewing parents as the problem, Washington passed laws that deliberately target certain parents by supplanting them with the...

    Retiring in the Pacific Northwest

I don't want to hijack the OP's inquiry. My response was to illuminate some of the messed-up stuff that Washington state is doing. Hopefully that give them some insight into where they want to relocate too.

    Retiring in the Pacific Northwest

Washington state Senate bill 5599 from 2023 session. I believe Codified in RCW 13.32A. International Partners for Ethical Care, Inc. v. Ferguson, is the supreme court case that deals with the statute. I think they are hearing arguments next session.

    5.7x28

it's a pretty cool cartridge and the FN pistol is pretty light with low recoil. The Secret Service uses this setup with specialty ammo. It's a flat shooter. I've always thought about getting one but the ammo costs kept me from pulling the trigger. Ammo is much cheaper now than ever.

    Retiring in the Pacific Northwest

I've lived in western Washington for over 40 years. In the past I have lived in various cities in King county and lived in Seattle when I was in college. I moved out of King County years ago and I'm glad I did. There are a lot of things I like about this area but the state is run by the...

    Best all arround scope

Trijicon 2.5-15 credo works pretty well. Also accupoint 3x9 and credo 3x9. One i recently bought on a special purchase from midway is a credo 2.5-10 with a 56mm objective. Really quite excellent with superb build quality.

The classic magnums - will they see a renaissance?

Some of the new 7rm barrels are running a 1:8 twist. Some have long magazine boxes like Seekins breathing some new life into some old cartridges. I think all of these "magnum" cartridges whether belted or not may be put at risk by the new peak steel cases ammo. If I can get a 308 that pushes...

Ever killed a bear with a pistol?

What load were you using? Tim Sundle from Buffalo Bore has been doing videos and he was recommending the 45 acp over the 10mm with his Outdoorsman load.

    Versatile Riflescope Recommendations

The one thing that gives me pause on that 2.5-12 is that there's no exposed elevation dial. At that magnification I think I would prefer to dial rather than hold over with a ranging reticle. Plus, the dial you can use at any power.

    Helle Knives

Others to consider if you like this style. On bottom, karesuando, ahti, kellam, jarvenpaa, and I think erapuu.

One less pistol on my wish list

The p365 and p320 look similar but the internal designs are a bit different. I've not heard of any significant safety issues with the 365. Now the 320 is a different story.

    Bausch and Lomb Balvar 8A

That's an interesting scope. Looks like it would need adjustable mounts. Is that correct?

    Versatile Riflescope Recommendations

I'm doing the same thing.. I got a springfield 2020 boundary rifle in 7RM and looking for the right scope. I really like the trijicon scopes. I'm leaning towards the credo 2.5-15. It does what you want but it's about $200 over your budget. The 3-9 accupoint is under $700 but doesn't quite...

    Helle Knives

I have a few. Most of the blades are laminated stainless. Handles usually curly birch. They make a nice knife. Steel is a little softer but no problem to touch up with a strop. Usually stick tang. Nice to use in cold weather. I'll try to get a picture up of what I have.

Buy a new 44 Magnum (Which would you buy?)

I also love the wheel gun. Given you already have a heavy 44 i would look hard at the new smith 629 mountain gun. I have one from 2008 and it's been great. Lots of power but easy to pack. Not so brutal to shoot as a 329. The new ones have no lock and use a ball detent lockup.

    Endurance Warranty

Don't waste your money. If you look at the contract the list of exclusions is significant. They use that to deny claims. Not worth the cost or headache.

Leupold scopes love or hate em?

    I own a lot of Leupold's. I three rimfire scopes, 5 older vx3's 2-2.8-8 and 2-3.5-10 and a 1.5x5. I also have a scout 2.5, 2 vx5 2-10, 2 vx5 3-15 and 1 vx6 2-12. I also have a newer 2.5-8 HD vx3 Clearly I like their product but I'm loosing faith in the scopes. I have found the newer ones...
