    Herd of grizz

The other interesting observation (from this video or other like regarding "grizzly bears out and away from the Rocky Mtn. Front) is ... they appear to be well fed. So, they appear to be in good physical condition. I wonder what they are feeding on out in the plains/prairie?

    Herd of grizz

Can you imagine being out in the wide-open antelope hunting and you crest a hill with seven grizzly bears right in front of you. Or some cowboy/cowgirl out working fence or cows.

    Kuiu attack pants

I bought one KUIU Attack pants many years ago. Loved them. I now have about 7 pants some camo patterns and some solid colors. The solid colors I use as work pants. They are comfortable and look nice. I have a couple of Tiburon pants; these are lighter weight and the same comfortable fit. I...

    Montana road trip

Most of the flood irrigation (open channel flow) in the State of Montana were constructed/developed around 100 years ago. Pivot irrigation is becoming more and more. There is a push for sprinkler irrigation (wheel lines, pivots, etc.) because they conserve water. Pivot sprinklers put more...

    Big Horn Sheep Nuts

Interesting read ... Selling of Sheep Sperm. The distance and effort folks will go to make a dollar. You can't make this shit up. John Lewton is very well know for being with Big Horn sheep hunters who have taken some BIG rams. Wow!

    Montana Moose

My son drew a moose permit several years ago on his 4th try. It's likely the only moose hunt I will ever have gone on. I have been applying for a long time like many others (now have 25 points). IMO, I would get familiar with the unit (obviously). I would pay attention where the cow moose...

Article: Butte hunter and outfitter Jack Atcheson Jr. Donation - What to do with them ole' mount(s).

Interesting article in the Billings Gazette: Jack Atcheson Jr. Article. Good read. I found this quote “I'm 70 years old now, and I don't have any kids that want my stuffed heads like a lot of hunters find,” he said. I wonder how many other hunters are discovering this ... their wife or...

    Data Centers

There are plans to build a Data Center in Broadview, MT (north of Billings). Some locals are already opposed to the Data Center, and some are open to it. I will admit, I am not in favor of more businesses coming into Montana to build. My reason is selfish and I admit it ... I have lived here...

Another One Bites The Dust... So long Kuiu

We'll have to wait and see what effect this will have on the quality and pricing of their products. Sure make you wonder.

    2025 Montana Bull

I believe all hunting is "luck" ... you can improve your luck by being smart. But there is always an element of "luck". Congratulations!

Grizzly Bear Attack in Canada Injures Eleven.

Grizzly Bear Attack in Canada I heard this the other day on the news ... grizzly attacks school children on a "field trip" and injures eleven. This is pretty much unheard of, most of the time it's one or maybe two people.
