My youngest son's last youth season here in Missouri, he went out with a good one. Every year the local gas station had a youth deer and youth turkey contest. He ended up with 3rd place. I took my niece on her first deer hunt, it was a pleasure, she sat still and was quite and didn't play on her...
After having to have my old lab put down earlier this summer, and thinking it would be a year or so before I got a new pup, I was perusing the classifieds in the AKC website and found a litter. Went and looked and made my pick of the two left and the feller said I have one more if you want to...
I recently had to part with my lab of 8 years, due to health issues he had. One of the most difficult decisions I've ever made. I've had labs for 26 or so years, but I've always liked the GWP, so tomorrow night I'm going to look at one. Any advice or suggestions? Difference's similarities?
Finally getting around to posting a recap. We had a great time. Saw bird's although not as many gobbles as I thought it would be nor as many birds. Fun was had. I would definitely do it again, according to the locals there was more pressure on the public land this year because most of the...
Everything is up got the warm stuff planted before I left for Nebraska turkey hunting, it was up when I got back. Cool stuff like taters, radish, lettuce and onions, broccoli, cauliflower carrots, cabbage doing very well. It's been a wet cook spring, finally got some sunshine and warmer temps...
Missouri season so far, got my middle son on his first turkey in 5 years. It always seems like he has some kind of bad luck when it comes to turkeys. Then 2 days later I got my first of the year, and today I tagged out. I like the barring in the fan on today’s turkey, never killed one with it...
Last youth season for my youngest, I think it was the best!! My oldest came along and videoed. What a morning gobbling all over had two come in perfect and strut around for 5 minutes before he shot one. Now I gotta wait 8 days for the regular season opener.
Got my onions, Yukon gold potatoes, radish, red and green leaf lettuce, carrots, and spinach in this past week. It will be about a month before I plant corn, tomatoes and beans and other warmer weather stuff.
At the end of my driveway yesterday. There were 6 big gobblers, several jakes, and lots of hens. Season for me isn’t until the 21st of April, my youngest is in his last year as a youth, that is the second weekend in April. Hopefully they will still be around.
Good luck I never apply for those because they are usually during the regular season and I’ve got some killer spots around home. Holler at me when you come and maybe we can get together. That’s only a couple hours from me.
