I like your analogy ... particularly since you are on thin ice, my boy.

Which obviously is in a mind that does not understand the difference(s) between wildlife management and public lands management. Read and learn ... or continue skewed logic ... your choice, your right.

    Outfitting on Public lands

That is correct. As has been explained ad nauseam on this forum, our license from the state entrusted with wildlife management to allow us to hunt has absolutely no relationship to public lands, accessing public lands, recreating on public lands, or public lands mixed uses. The right to access...

To what are you referring by that statement??? 'Don't know what you are saying!

    Outfitting on Public lands

Well, it seems MOGA and the outfitting business continues to be alive and well, providing some hunters the hunt of a lifetime and opportunities they may never have realized on their own.. But it also seems we got rid of ol' birdseye from "parts unknown"! Pot stirrer cameo appearance as OP...

Yep, Griz would have won if their score exceeded the Cat score. Yep, it will be a very competitive game.

Certainly understand your rant and the reasons thereof. However, that does not reflect the attitude and M.O. of most outfitters. As to the "2 fold": 1. "Marginal" behavior may be the M.O. of the outfitter you cite, but most outfitters don't operate that way. 2. Realize that the public land...

"Ridiculous" questions reflecting now an obsession with fire suppression costs as provided by Buzz. 'Suggest more research on the history and large volume of information regarding PLT and related issues. Obsession with fire suppression costs and hunting license revenues is barely tangential...

Skewed logic again in response to TheTone, as those who advocate for the "ploy" don't care about fire mitigation costs or any other costs to the state. It doesn't even cross their "privatization" minds. They just know from history that the states which all seek increased revenues for a vast...

That phrase encapsulates the essence of this thread. The only other term which comes to mind is "entertaining", so at least thankful for that.

    Outfitting on Public lands

Not an outfitter, nor ever hired one, as a lifelong older Montana DIY hunter and wildlife advocate, I have to acknowledge the positive impact to the hunting legacy, to wildlife management, and to acquisition and enhancement of wildlife habitat by the outfitting industry in Montana. What...

It seems there are a number of those on HT who are argumentative polemists bent on stirring up controversy, often with little accurate information, logical statements, or realistic valid solutions. Don't know if it's to seek attention or to merely fill an uncomfortable void in life.

    Great Social Media posts?

Not yet, as they are headed for the Elkhorns where they will avoid poachers by heading south to the Tobacco Roots, then back across the Madison River to Norris Road, from where the lead cow will seek refuge on the Flying D.

That's not accurate. Those lands all belonged to the "Feds", so what became state land was given by the "Feds" to the newly formed state. Prior to that, there was NO state to "cede" lands to the "Feds".
