I read a post from you on Unit 49, you mentioned you like to help new people in the area. I am Active Duty Air Force, currently stationed in AL, but hoping to draw a 3rd season mule deer tag out there this year. I would love to pick your brain. Thanks in advance! -Jonathan

Getting my Father-in-Law his first Elk, Game plan advice

Good advice. I plan to buy point in WY this year for elk and pronghorn....government doesnt pay me enough to spend that kind of money on a hunt (active duty air force). Im beginning to lean that way as well if I dont draw NM.

Getting my Father-in-Law his first Elk, Game plan advice

Idhikker, He is up for either. I think he wants to hear some bugling bulls so i think archery gets the edge. BigJay73, thats my biggest pull to ID, but we lose 2 days of hunting and all i keep hearing is that the terrain is steep and nasty, which worries me some.

    Unit 12 NM Rifle Elk

Hey everyone, I got lucky and drew a Unit 12 NM rifle elk tag. I’m super excited but I’m active duty and moving next week to AL. I will be too far away to get to scout the area before the hunt in person. I have been e-scouting and I was able to make one quick lap through part of the unit. If...

    bipod for elk hunt?

I would think taller would be better than short. At least the places I have been elk hunting getting prone would have been difficult. I am definitely looking to get one. I am considering the Swagger bipod.....looks interesting and I can probably stand with it if needed. Also considering...
