I’ve shot does early and stayed put for a couple hours numerous times. If it’s warmish I may gut it real fast then keep hunting. In my part of Tennessee we’re allowed 3 does per day for the entirety of the season and I’ve been able to double and even triple up before this way.
Have never done...
Have always hoped to see one and finally did this morning. Piebald fawn and mom milled around for about 15mins around my blind less than 30 yards away. Didn’t get very great photos, every time I’d try to take some mom would start to get antsy so I prioritized actually getting to watch it play...
Just took a look at gohunt and the good news for you is if you now presumably have 5 elk points in AZ there are 47 different cow tags with 100% draw odds. And lots of 20+ percent odds on late rifle bull tags. Good luck in the draw next year.
I’m in year 3 of a pair of Frogg Toggs Grand Refuge waders and whenever they crap out I’ll be buying another one. Extremely warm and comfortable and they can be had for less than $300 if you shop around.
Actually went a couple times last summer. There’s one maybe 45mins from my house that operates April-October. It was usually a double feature and a ton of fun. Saw the new Top Gun and some girly movie my wife was excited about.
No particular order.
Peacock Bass fishing in South America
Do a long canoe route through the Boundary Waters
Hunt Elk in my home state of Tennessee (long shot of long shots)
Take my wife around Europe
Don’t be on my deathbed thinking “I should’ve spent more time fishing and hunting”
