That collar data is the best thing that ever happened for wildlife in Wyoming. Finally, Montana seems to be getting the hint. The ability for animals to move across the landscape is so important for their yearly needs as well as their long-term survival. There have always been biologists...
Yes indeed, the need for making fences more wildlife friendly and the importance of pronghorn being able to move across the landscape is pretty damn apparent. We need a few overpasses on I-80, better fencing, etc.
I'm hopeful that Brocks new group will help make improvements, would be huge step...
Totally agree.
The program I work for at full staffing is 86 employees, as of today, we're down 50%, 43 left. We lost 18 field folks the last 2 weeks, most were 20+ year employees, a handful were only a couple years in and bagged it. I can't blame any of them for making the choices they have...
They increased type 6 licenses, or more accurately eliminated type 4's and made them all type 6's. IIRC, I think the overall harvest was about 500 more than usual...still not even close to enough to control the herd out there.
There was a lot of discussion about unit 7 that started a couple months ago. I attended a meeting in Casper with @JM77 where it was discussed at length.
I don't hunt that area for bulls, however, I was in favor of the GF recommendation of splitting the seasons for any bull into a type 1 and 2...
How protecting public lands start, constructive talks.
Shout out to the groups involved and Representative Zinke.

Now they want the workers back...what a total clown show.

Did you read my post about mentoring and passing knowledge or just ignore it? Post 246.
My job has been mentoring and improving efficiency and productivity for the last several years.
We quit doing those at least a month ago...last I heard the server was jammed and wasn't accepting those emails any longer. But, like I said, we haven't done them for at least a month.
Big miscalculation on their part...our probationary employees are back thanks to the lawsuits we filed.
Maybe if the dogeshit bros had a little more institutional knowledge and better mentors they wouldn't have made such a serious blunder.
Don't disagree, but the problem with how this rolled out is that there was ZERO thought put into any of it. From the get go it was a cluster-shag when you're canning probationary period employees for "lack of performance" when you handed them cash awards for their excellent performance a couple...
You're the type that knows everything, so I can see how it's impossible for you to learn from other people.
I had some great mentors in the field I work in and that saved me a lot of trouble, time, and effort. It's vital to pass that knowledge on to the next employees. If the goal of this...
True story, we lost 3 fisheries biologists that combined had over 90 years of experience. That's not good.
The group I work with directly has lost a ton of experience, many with 25+ years. You don't replace that experience or get the opportunity to pass that knowledge on when they leave all at...
