    Any Remington 788 fans here?

My father in Law has a 243 and its a shooter as well. Lots of coyotes and whitetail have taken note over the last 40-plus years. He shot deer with it when most thought a .243 was too small of a caliber. He showed them otherwise with 100 grain winchester or federal bullets.

    What are you currently reloading?

No I have not. I'm using a heavy dose of Varget and getting 29700fps out of a 22" barrel. Shot group is 1" at 200 yards. The rifle is a mod 70 winchester with a custom shilen barrel reamed out to 7-08 my local gunsmith. It flat shoots I just have to get 50 rounds worked up to get it dialed in...

    9/11 Lest we forget

I will never forget......that day i realized there are a lot of people worldwide that want me and all americans dead cause we don't agree with them or submit to their ideology .........I miss how united we all were that day and in the weeks after. We need to set aside childish differences and...

    Planning with chronic injuries

Just my opinion......but go hunt. Enjoy the outdoors and opportunities. 1. find some friends to hunt with that can help you. I'm 51 with some issues but i'm taking my 2 sons this year to help out and make unforgettable memories. 2. Don't set unrealistic expectations. 3. Get in the best shape...

    Football General Talk

I'm a big Josh Allen Fan as a person. He was a finalist for National FFA and is from a farm family. He's a hard-working dude, but I personally don't think he will ever achieve the accolades Mahomes already has.

What is your cooler set up for elk?

I use a small chest freezer. I watch the weather and if its going to be at or below freezing at night no need for a generator. I place 8 frozen milk jugs in the bottom of the freezer and drive 20 hours west. Open up at night and let the jugs refreeze once you arrive. Hang the 1/4 meat and let...

    Youth elk rifle?

I'm taking my teenage son on his first elk hunt this year in MT, and he will be shooting his 7-08 with 150-grain Nosler. It's accurate, has manageable recoil, and flat works if you keep the shots reasonable and ethical. It has been like the hammer of thor on whitetails, dropping most within sight.

    280 Ackley Load

One of my favorite rounds. Love my 280's and 7mm-08's. Such a versatile caliber with lots of bullets to choose from (nosler being my fav). I've had really good luck with the 150 partition.

    Elk bullet in Grizzly country

Being from the Midwest and going to MT this season in grizz country, it never crossed my mind what bullet in my rifle. I do plan to carry bear spray. I was planning to shoot a 30-06 with 165 grain accubonds but I could switch to 180 barnes X. Something to consider I guess.
