I guess you can add me to the list as another who doesn't like them. Had a rifle threaded for one and disliked it so much that rather than putting a thread protector on I recut and crowned the barrel and had the rifle refinished.
I'm glad most of you like them but you won't find them on my...
Will be following along with the thread. I'm itching to get back up there soon, hopefully next year. For now I'll live vicariously through you!
Also didn't know you were from billings area. I'm from Livingston so here's wishing you good luck from a fellow montanan.
Just hunting my home state of Montana as I do most years. That said I'm always antsy and excited to see what the year will hold for me.
This year will be my first year hunting with a recurve and I will be giving it my all to put a bull on the ground in September.
Good luck to all!
I've never picked a bullet due to hunting in grizzly country and have lived in montana my whole life. FWIW I have hunted solo for the last 15+ years. I do carry pepper spray or a sidearm
I should also mention since you are looking at a used one in particular that in 15 years I've actually owned two. I put about 500 rounds of full house loads through the first one when it started to need repair. Loosened up enough that I had to install an oversized hand and bolt stop to tighten...
I've been carrying the 329pd for probably 15 years or so and I love it. That said it's definitely not for everyone. I have no problem holding 3" groups at 15 yards with 300 grain hardcast loads. However you won't be rapid firing this gun accurately so take that into account. As mentioned above...
Good for the Judge. Better than most cases. That said imo any poaching offense should come with jail time. If every poacher faced 5+ years in jail it would make them think twice.
