I think I'm 0/13 on draw apps. At this point I'm getting antsy for some cooler weather. This summers Oklahoma heat has been quite oppressive.
Still have a few hunts planned though.
I'm breaking in a pair of Kenetrek Mountain Extreme right now in 11.5M. according to the bronock measurements I'm right on the edge of medium width but don't quite need a wide.
Last year I spent around $80 on a Fenix. Pretty much failed me on my Colorado elk hunt. Returned the Fenix to Scheels and bought a sofrin off Amazon. Don't remember the model number. Worked for a while but it also failed. It won't charge at all. So not sure what is next. Maybe it's coincidence I...
Just an update on boot journey. Monday I went to Scheels near by. Scheels now carry Schnees. I tried the timberline boot on but it seems to be very similar to the Crispis I already have. By that I mean just a bit of walking around and tinkering with the toe of the boots I find same results. Toe...
Sorry if this is already being discussed, I didn't see it anywhere.
Just curious if anyone drew in Colorado 2nd draw. Results out today, had my son in for elk first rifle but didn't draw.
That reminds me of when I was a teenager in the 90's. Brother and I would come home and say "what's to eat, I'm starving".
Dad would let us know "you might be hungry but your not starving". My dad was stationed in Ethiopia while his brother was serving in Vietnam. Starvation was real in Africa...

The noises, messes, fusses, squabbling, etc. of children around the house. Just recently I was reminded of how short of a window of time they are at home under my care and how quickly they...
That's the problem, I don't feel I should have to do a lot of modifications if I'm spending over $400 on boots. I didn't trim the insoles for my boots, I just let the toes fold up to add some cushion. I don't think I should need to do that on expensive boots. Yes I can relate to having wrecked...
I live in Oklahoma so I don't get to go to several different stores to try on different boots. Scheels is the closest store that has good boots. Scheels carries Crispi, Kenetrek, Hoffman, Zamberlain.
Last year I bought a pair of Crispi West River insulated boots. I am just not fully satisfied...
So it turns out the unit I applied in for antelope was 100% last year with 10 points (special) 80% with 9 points (also special).
I applied special this year with 10 points, no draw. According to g&f this year it took 12 in special for 100%.
Looks like if I want to hunt I'm gonna need to...
Desert rams are cool and all but no way in the world I would trade any and all hunts the rest of my life to hunt one. Not even a world record. I just enjoy hunting to much.
No surprise that I didn't draw. Just usually throw my name in the hat because it's cheap with no expectations of actually drawing.
I'm not sure how many points I have, close to 20 by now probably. The way it's set up so that you can buy as many chances as you want I really don't see points are...
I did the same thing last year with AZ pronghorn. With all the states/species I applied for I somehow failed to remember.
I not only lost my loyalty point but that years point as well. Basically set me back two points until 5 years and can gain it back.
I only have around 9-10 points so likely...
What am I missing here. Many places already allow atv/utv's.
Saw several last year on my Colorado elk hunt on NF as well as several years ago in AZ on a public land elk hunt. No I don't like it but it's not something new best I can tell.
