I got a group I'm happy with in the 7mm mag. I got a load that shot right at 0.5" with it. I didn't actually make it to 7mm-08 yet with the TGK. I'm working up a load of 120 gr ttsx for the 7mm-08 for pronghorn this year and then will work up the 140 gr after. I got the 120 gr ttsx down to 0.4"...
I'm headed out in the morning to do some load development with them in both 7mm mag and 7mm-08 in the 140 gr. I'm hopeful they shoot as good as I have read they do.
It's a fantastic round. Has a lot of fans here on HT. My savage in 7mm-08 has taken a pile of animals (hogs, WT deer, mule deer, cow and bull elk). With the right bullet it's more than capable. We've taken animals from 67 yds to 430 yds with it.
It should be a lot of fun. It's by far the busiest fall I've ever had. I've been holding on to some points and just working toward a time when I had some time. My wife and I own our own company now. We've spent the last few years building it up while also having our baby daughter who is now 2.5...
Well, Like I said yesterday, I shouldn't draw in NV. But, I drew 2 tags in New Mexico, so who knows. Maybe it's just a lucky year. I drew my second choice muzzie deer. Now, I don't know how to make it all work. I may be that stupid individual that has to turn in a tag somewhere. I have archery...
There's really no way that I draw, but that's pretty much what I said for New Mexico and I'm sitting here with 2 tags in my pocket for NM, so maybe it's my lucky year...
I'm partial to the .280, but it's like everyone else has said, take the one you shoot best and are most comfortable with. Either will work fine for a cow.
I've always thought that Ibex just look really cool as a shoulder mount. I do mostly euro mounts for our deer, elk, and pronghorn, but for an ibex, I think we would have to do a shoulder.
Down to 253.3. Slow progress, but I can see changes in my body happening. I've been consistent with my workouts and I'm definitely feeling stronger and seeing the changes.
Currently a little over half way through this. I started it about 10 yrs ago and couldn't make it through at that time. I'm finishing it this time. Some interesting stuff for sure, but it's not the easiest read.
Interesting. I will go watch some of those. My reloading "mentor" has always been my father in law and this is the method that he always used. However, that doesn't make it the best method. I have no problem with buying larger amounts of powder. I just don't want to buy large amounts of powder...
