I did not like my badlands. Granted I didn't like using the bungie that connected the binos to the harness but regardless I lost my binos like 3 times on one antelope hunt. Plus the magent was super loud which was not great for bow hunting.
I have made a complete 180 on caliber size. I'm going back down in size probably getting a 22 CM as my next rig. I like the idea of a no recoil rifle. I don't think it will be my elk gun but with the right bullet at the right distance I think it would be fine.
Nothing new that hasn't been said but we kill elk every year in Montana with 6.5 CM, .308 win, 270 win, 7 mag and 325 wsm. They all die.
Look at the ballistics and know your effective range. Take the gun that you have shot the most and that you are the most comfortable with.
Have a good hunt!
There are a few out of Lewistown but good luck with them actually responding to you. The only one that would respond to me was a group out of Billings. The spot you are wanting to go was quoted at 10k to me in 2021.
Don't worry someone will decide to buy it in a rush around August 25th.
I shoot the carbon defiant still. Top of the line in 2016 and it means I dont have to spend 4k on a new bow. Crazy to me that bow prices are to the point of custom rifles.
Step on contact the fwp biologist. Step two contact the forest service biologist if there is one. I burned my time up the last 5 days of September and the first 5 of October. I wish I would have started on Oct 5th. It was still in the 80s and not great for hunting. Then like mentioned above I...
Surgery is complete. Took an hour longer than expected but everything went well. Not feeling too bad but we will see in a couple days once the meds wear off. I'll be chasing sheep in my dreams.
MT Moose 2020 12 pts
The one tag I wish I would have eaten instead of filling.
And a few solid MT LE elk tags. Not OIL but the one took 7 pts and the second one was the same units with worse odds that i got with 4 pts.
I've had the FHF harness for 3 years and love it. It is very customizable. Im able to run my binos/rangefinder/spare mag/handgun/inreach all in one place and it's by far been the most comfortable.
I unfortunately didn't start applying for sheep and goat until I was 20. Fortunately my dad sacrificed the 70 bucks up front for the whole family to apply for moose. I drew the worst tag(IMO) in the state with 12 points back in 2020. I am very thankful for the opportunity to actually hunt moose...
My doctor said the same thing to me. I wanted to go on pellets but she said with the amount im taking and the lower results say that my body is not holding on to it.
It was also not the cure all that I had hoped for either BUT it has made a large difference. I got tested at 23 and my levels...
