Not sure, I typically use a tow strap and real tire chains. Less to turn into a projectile through the windshield if the strap breaks.- MTLabrador

Are All Terrain tires needed?

Are All Terrain tires needed?
Tire chains work better in the mud than any reasonable truck tire. A messy pain to put on and take off but they work. TruckClaws are also awesome when the going gets really sticky like gumbo. They also work in deep sand.- Greybeard

Anyone have experience clearing snow with a tracked skid steer?
...tires to one with tracks. I’m a builder and the tracked version is much more useful for grading and dirt work. My concern is that I also use it with my snowblower. I have a steep driveway. Would the tracked machine spin out? Would it have as much traction as my wheeled machine with tire chains.- Southern Elk

I manage a Bobcat dealer here in Montana, I get this asked all the time. Tires will always be better (stock vs stock), you can swap tracks if needed. Packed snow sucks for a track skiddy. Especially on a slope or if the snow gets a little packed on the driveway first, which i'm guessing you're not exactly flat in montana. They do make a snow track now which you'd have to swap out every season. No, personal experience with those new snow...- Nick87

...LTX's on his Tundra (and I love the on-road ride and fuel economy of them)...they're absolute shit in mud. On the other hand, My '16 Tundra 1794 4x4 with a GoFast Camper on back nets me 15.6 MPG average on highway. But they ain't worth a dime in mud. Bring tire chains...and traction boards.- Robert N

Chains for 23 tacoma
A lift does nothing for clearances where tire chains are involved. The issue is clearance from the sidewall of the tire to suspension components and brake lines. I can chain all four on my truck. mtmuley- mtmuley

Laclede chains have been fine for me. I find my needed size and part number on their website then look for them on eBay. Have a peep behind your front tire. There’s like 1/2” clearance between the tire and steering knuckle on Tacomas. You won’t be able to fit chains up there unless you have...- Beignet
