    Boundary waters under attack

It really isn’t- no matter what your personal political affiliation, public lands and national parks are a cause you can rally behind. However, once the elected officials get their marching orders, voices of those they are supposed to represent be damned.

    Boundary waters under attack

Hopefully this turns into a situation like McCain flipping last minute to preserve the ACA back in ‘17. But I doubt it.

    Boundary waters under attack

Called my senators again this morning. Daines' mailbox is full, hopefully on this issue.

    Youth quota, too young

Food for thought. A 3-year old shot a 7-year old (and mentor). Let that marinate for a bit. Or a different link: https://www.themeateater.com/conservation/general/3-year-old-and-mentor-accidentally-shoot-wound-two-other-turkey-hunters

    Montana Pronghorn

Yeah, people can get stupid out there. Another reason I like walking a ways and getting in some terrain. Or going mid week after the craziness. That really cuts down on the shenanigans.

    Montana Pronghorn

You can use the opening day craziness to your advantage- set up in funnels to catch moving animals, or just be willing to walk away from the road more than other people on bigger pieces. Terrain is a big help, as everybody wants to glass the big open flats and avoid anything resembling a coulee...

    Corner Crossing Update

Sadly, the double negative seems to be the only appropriate descriptor, as from what I understand per the Appeals Court decision, it is not illegal, (and cannot be made illegal per the UIA), but also seems it has no codified law making it “lawful”.

    Corner Crossing Update

Reevaluate the current circumstances? The circumstances are that corner hopping from federal to federal is not illegal. It’s just that some people don’t want to lose exclusive access to land they don’t own or pay taxes on.

    FWP lies about Corner Crossing

I dunno, he had the purse to spring for a custom sign and proceed to bend the hell out of it for no good reason. That points to wealthy and dumb enough to run it all the way.

A little humour for your day

Teeth on the wrong jaw, foot outside the jaws, fake scenario with an entirely fictional character... Yep, this is definitely the “science” coming out of Colorado to support fur and trapping bans.

Avalanche Gulch - Access at risk

Reminds me of a similar situation in the Little Belts up Yogo Creek.

Forest Service Reorg - Progress or Politics

To get this back on track, rather than just sniveling- is there any possible course of action on our part to stop this new Robber-Baron scheme to steal our public lands? How can we course-correct on this to improve management and secure the future of our public lands?

No more brick and mortar license sales?

I’d hate to see the other states. Compared to Missouri’s, the MT app is a joke.

ACTION ALERT: CPW Commission vote on fur ban

Question- if he isn’t confirmed yet, how is he voting? If his confirmation is not confirmed, are his votes vacated?

Minnesota Shotgun Zone going to Rifle

If you want to lower the population, implement an antler-point-restriction. Missouri did that for several years, and many hunters would shoot an adult doe instead of waiting for a legal buck. In their mind, they were willing to wait for any buck when that was legal, but waiting for a legal (4pt...

    State Trust Land Survey

Saw it on an anti-trapping page on Facebook the other day. That didn’t go the way they planned it. 😂

    Feral horse removal

That’s a brilliant angle- call it “critical habitat for protected wild horses”, then sue to shut down the development. Might work for solar fields, too.

    Youth quota, too young

But you weren’t hunting while in diapers. You didn’t have your own tag. You weren’t pulling the trigger. THAT is the difference. I’m not saying “don’t take kids along on a hunt”. But having them be the hunter is a much different experience then taking them along.

    Youth quota, too young

I’ve seen a lot of people take their kids out hunting at 5-6 to shoot deer. Heated blinds, food plots/feeders, tripods for crossbow or rifles. I wholeheartedly disagree with it- their minds are typically not developed enough to understand the gravity of taking a life for food. It usually is a...
