I had a duty Remington 870 with a 20 inch slug barrel that had rifle sights. With 2 3/4 1 oz slugs it shot consistently at 100 yards. I never shot it beyond that distance, but I think it would be good to 150 with the sights that were on it. Recoil was noticeable with the slugs.
The FA model 83 is an amazing firearm. When my hunting partner passed away he left me is FA 454. They are like a bank vault very well built. I would say one of the best worldwide for fit and finish. One thing I learned and was surprised by is you cannot carry it safely with 5 rounds. Think of...
One thing to keep in mind are you going to shoot it often, if so the light weight advantage for carry purposes will be uncomfortable. Recoil is a huge consideration and can become a problem. At some point recoil takes the fun out of it for some. Then there are some that think it hurts so good ;)...
I owned a Colt Python years ago. The Python is a 357 mag and had a 6 inch barrel. It was a very nice firearm and I used it for duty carry in the beginning of my career. I have never shot the 44 mag Colt. I sold the python and went to a 4 inch Model 57 S&W 41 mag for duty carry. The S&W fit me...
Ask for a market analysis from a realtor with good reviews. They usually come close to an appraisal since they both use the same information. This is normally a no charge service.
I been shooting bows since 1974. I use a fixed pin sight with 7 pins. At first I had issues getting the correct pin quickly. So I settled on having red pins at 20, 40, 60 yards the others are green at 30,50,70 and 80 yards. With a little practice it's easy to get the right pin immediately. I...
Stay in touch with her and try to help her out anyway possible. I'm sure she is in a grief-stricken panic not knowing what to do. Remember her world just turned upside down. Help her with the arraignments and later getting her finances figured out. It going to be a very difficult time ahead.
Had mine done in March of 2004. In June I went on a spring bear hunt in June with my bow set at 50 LBS. Shot enough to sight in at 20 yards, next shot at 6 yards and scored a brown phase boar. My Dr. was on board with this timeline from the start and it worked. There were days I wondered if it...
There are a few guys shooting BPCR silhouette that anneal after each firing. It's easier on brass and gives better neck tension. The new annealing machines make it fast and easy.
True I'm sure there won't be any tickets written unless it's an attitude ticket LOL. Just frustrating they don't sell a little early to help work with the public. The entire process reeks of piss poor planning.
Went to F&G headquarters in Missoula last week since we were in town running errands. They would not sell the new licenses until Monday. Since today is March 1 our old license/conservation is no good. I asked the lady if there would be an issue for trespassing on the first since they won't be...
Handgun ammo I use 50 rd boxes and long action rifle ammo 20 rd boxes. Short action fifty rd boxes. Hunting I carry a 10 rd folding cloth ammo holder in my pack.
I have a gen 2 in 243. It shoots under 1 moa while working loads up for 75 gr Hornady HP, 90 gr ELD-X and 90 Accubonds. I'm using 6.5 Stabil. The only issue is the trigger could be better but is okay if you get used to it. There is a bit of travel and a little heavy, but if you do your part it...
