    Seekins Havak 22 Creedmoor

Confirmed the ballistics data with my Swaro EL Range binoculars using a .307 G7@3100fps with 90gr Atips. I expect the velocity will increase to be 75-100fps after I put 100 rounds or so through it.

    Seekins Havak 22 Creedmoor

Today I had a chance to air it out before the storm front rolled in..I’m always a little Leary about rapid shot strings with carbon wrapped barrels, so this was the first test, a seven shot string as fast as I could work the 60 degree bolt…passed with flying colors. I’m liking this rifle a lot…;)

    Seekins Havak 22 Creedmoor

My pal Glen Seekins sent me this rifle to T&E before the release date in July. It came with a 1-7” 20” carbon wrapped barrel, and a 1-8”. I had some time to mount a scope, find zero and do a little shooting… I’m not disappointed! The very first load I shot was making one hole at 100 meters..;)

Small Bullets (.224) and BIG game

I could put up a few pictures...you guys have seen a lot of them. They work well if you pick your shots, like you should do with every other chambering you choose to use.

    Annealing question

The most consistent results I found as far as SD and ES were concerned were annealing every time. It's a pretty simple process with the AMP, and it analyses the brass for hardness that can vary from lot to lot, and different brands, providing a code before you run them through....it's a spendy...

    Annealing question

I'm a believer... I anneal after each firing. I've done extensive testing and the results were better overall accuracy and lower SD's, through more consistent neck tension. I use an AMP Aztec annealer.

    Trapping Thread 2025/2026

Carpet beetles will leave a shell as residue, usually on the inside of the hide. The hide will be perforated and thin, making the hair fall out. Back when I was fur trapping, anything I carried over to the next season was put in the freezer before spring. I found out the hard way that leaving...

    Trapping Thread 2025/2026

Sounds like carpet beetles to me. Mice will usually crop the fur from the outside and pack it off for nesting. Beetles will work from the inside on the hide itself. The best solution is after the pelts are dry is to get them in the freezer if you plan on carrying them over to the next season...
