I have never drawn a single tag in NM, got my apps in again this year though. I really want a javelina tag or a January archery deer tag.- LCH

Is chasing Wyoming permits worth it?
I also sometimes see new hunters posting here wanting to do a DIY backpack elk hunt, and they never have shot that doe on the back-40. Talk about jumping straight into the deep end.- LCH

I have already made a trip to Oklahoma for hogs, doing another trip down there in a couple weeks. No idea where I will land with the draws, I'm sure I will get lucky and pull a few tags. Ran its course, now in the weeds.
Side note, but when my parents had a car with a major mechanical problem, they junked it and bought a new car. Usually around 150k miles it seemed like, the transmission usually went first. Spending serious money to fix it was not even a consideration. A lot of people today, myself included...- LCH

Straight walled rifle?
That's how Indiana was up until this year. 44 Mag makes a great deer round within 150 yards or so. We had physical dimensions a round had to fit within. For example, 450 BM was legal, 45-70 was not. Better read the actual regs to see what cartridges you can use. -
