I think I’m done with big game hunting

I have family history in PR also and was just there a few weeks ago. American flags everywhere, big military presence right now and very high rates of military service. Why there’s an issue with a wildly popular artist from there is beyond me. Older folks grumbling about the young performers at...

Relax, Everything is Going to be Okay!

Undoubtedly there's a percentage that would, but I think there are real reasons why so many people don't have one. I don't think it's safe to assume that it's not a big deal for all of these people. And again, remember that this is a solution to a problem that is virtually nonexistent... And...

Relax, Everything is Going to be Okay!

Democrats need to get better at answering this question. There are compelling reasons to not require ID at this point (assuming the goal is to maximize the ability to vote for U.S. Citizens). https://www.lwv.org/blog/whats-so-bad-about-voter-id-laws

Relax, Everything is Going to be Okay!

I hate to sound like the local tin foil wearer, but this should not be surprising to anyone. There is no chance he's going to quietly watch his party get drawn and quartered in the midterms, accept the results, lose control of Congress, be impeached and investigated up the wazoo and possibly...

    RIP Catherine O'Hara

She was by far, my favorite part of that show. The simplest things she did would kill me. RIP.

    Lake trout tips

When the water is this cold, they can go anywhere, but I think interesting rock structure in 20-40 feet of water is a good place to start.

    New threat to 2nd A?

Agreed. This is just blatant violation of the constitution. One thing I can say for this administration and the other branches of the Federal Govt right now, is that they are putting on a master class in why checks and balances are so vital. I mean, if the Justice Dept. is going to do...

What are your 2026 Outdoor Plans

Hoping for a pronghorn tag this year (and hoping my son will come too). It's been too long since I've been west. Other than that, probably just a bunch of whitetail hunting in NY and fingers crossed for the Maine moose lottery..

    New threat to 2nd A?

Yeah, I suspect we're not all that far apart on this. I'm not incapable of seeing the situation from their perspective. I don't believe that they just decided to execute someone on the street because they didn't like him. But being understandable and being defensible are different, IMO.

    New threat to 2nd A?

My two pennies: Personally, I think the decision to concealed carry a handgun, while going to monitor ICE interactions was a bad one. If anyone I knew was going to do that, I would passionately plea with them to reconsider. That said, he was carrying that gun legally and he did not brandish...

The "Kansas Model" seems to be working well for feral pig control

I'm sure all the other states will fall into line now... 😅 I'm guessing the populations of many southern states would be up in arms about actually getting rid of pigs, at this point. We've had one or two scares up here, where some pigs got established in an area and our DEC came out vocally...

    SNOW SUCKS!

About 13" here overnight. But it's the lightest, fluffiest snow ever. Easy shoveling!

    7-08 120 vs 140 nosler bt

The 140's are a really easy bullet to get accuracy from, in my experience. But, the 120's are made with a beefier, more tapered jacket and I think they hold together better. For hunting, I'd steer you towards the 120's. Much tougher than you'd expect!

    Boundary waters under attack

I can certainly believe that there are some folks who are misinformed, but I thought the posted articles did a good job making it clear that the mine would not be inside the canoe area. I'm familiar with the area. In my opinion, it's a national treasure and there's nothing else like it in...
