    Model 42 and TSS

If its a fixed full choke, I personally would not shoot anything other than lead through it. I have an old Savage Stevens that I wanted to hunt waterfowl with, so I sent it to Steve at Rose Action Sports, and had him thread it for chokes. Then I got some special Colonial choke tubes for steel...

Moving to California... tell me what to expect.

Southern California is awesome in it own way, the fishing will be off the charts. Deer, bear, and turkey are great, just move to lead free and you're good to go. Now you have NV close by, which is going to be long odds but its not impossible. But upswing I see is AZ being at your doorstep...

Your favorite Cover Song of all time

Somebody already posted one from Mike Ness/Social D, that whole album is amazing, as is their cover of Ring of Fire, so I'll go to some less known stuff.

Hell yeah, can't go wrong there, those Zermatts are amazing.

    Stiller Action & PTG

I love the ARC, its a stellar cartridge, hard to beat 223 with heavies, although 22arc probably does it better. ETA: I assume you saw that chassis Tikka .223 LH on Gunbroker?

    Stiller Action & PTG

I forgot about your LH needs. Makes total sense to me, no reason to keep a RH action around. I really liked my 6br, its an amazing cartridge. I built it to be a fun long range plinker to shoot when I was letting my serious hunting guns cool down at the range. I ended up barely using it...

    Stiller Action & PTG

Every time I've gone Savage I've hated myself after. If you want a 6arc, I'd seriously consider a Howa mini and slap it in a chassis of your choice. My 6arc has a Carbon6 barrel, C6 considers the Minis as prefit-able, I sent mine to them, and they installed the barrel for $40. Obviously, the...

    Stiller Action & PTG

I was thinking the same, how could they mess up slapping a label on a box and sending you someone else's action? Then I remembered how many times I contacted them with no response, got tracking info for a package that never, ever moved, put on hold and nobody ever came back...... But, if you...

    Stiller Action & PTG

PTG nearly ruined my custom rifle build, it took almost a year from ordering an "in stock" action, to sending it back to them twice because it was out of spec, to sending it back the last time and finally getting a refund. Their communication is nearly non-existent, and I am seriously concerned...

    Straight walled rifle?

Its such a fun cartridge too. My buddy wanted a SHTF rifle that he could shoot 38spl, 357mag, and 357max out of since he has piles and piles of ammo for them, except Max. I helped his wife order a Henry single shot in 357mag, sent it out to be reamed to Max, and I worked up a 180gn XTP load...

    RIP Greg Biffle

I was never really into Nascar, but I really felt like Greg was a great guy through watching him with Cleet and the crew. Greg gave off a clear passion for life, having fun, and just being a good guy. His relief efforts after Helene were epic, doing the Lord's work without a doubt. RIP to a...

    Hammer vs Barnes question???

I found one in my muley buck this year, it was very interesting. I haven't shot anything with Barnes, but a good amount with Hammers. I've often compared them during load development, and went Hammers due to better velocity and groups.

New stock for an old shotgun?

I was looking to do similar with a Savage Stevens that allegedly belonged to my grandfather. The only options I found were stocks that might fit, but would absolutely need fitting. Anything can be restocked, but at what cost is the question. I'd ask @p_ham, I know he could 100% do it, but if...
