Hunting, Technology, and a little Reflection
Technology is definitely making more efficient killers out of continually worse “hunters”. Not that big of a trick to kill an elk at 1200 yards (in calm conditions) with off the shelf gear. Which western states have been disproportionately good to you in drawing tags?
I’d vote for none - I've drawn plenty of preference point tags, and couple of the better odds NM deer tags. I’m sure the luck will change and I’ll draw at some point. NM elk has been my nemesis, 12 years of applying for me, 5 or 6 for my wife and kids all usually with a “better” odds option...- D_Walt

3/4 ton 4x4 recommendations
Buy a Ford 6.7 power stroke and be done with it. I have a 2017 with 210k on it, I bought it new and have had very few issues. I don’t haul a travel trailer but I pull with it pretty regularly up to 15k on my flatbed gooseneck. Once you pull with a 3/4 or 1 ton diesel you’ll roll your eyes...- D_Walt

Step up your Dad game boys..
Hell, we got two wild Charolais bulls been trying to get caught for two years, couldn’t get them out of the brush and in the pens with horses, dogs and a chopper. Could probably arrange a free range hunt if anyone is interested…no horns though 😂- D_Walt
