    If ported, it's amazing how tolerable the 45-70 is in a contender frame. The encore I have kicks quite a bit in 45-70. Slightly more than a 12 gauge slug IMO.

    I think tradition with Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Midwest is best for quality though. West Virginia has lots of opportunity in its northern half if you want a quantity experience on public land.

    Vintage Remington squirrel gun?

    What would be a recommended vinatge remington 22? The nylon 66 has zero appeal to me so it needs to be something else. 541's are beyond the price I would like to pay. Looking at under $500 and able to mount a scope.
