Helicopters are insanely expensive. You are probably looking at $2500+ per flight hour to break even if it’s a turbine Bell 206. Bush flights are not in the same universe using light fixed wing.- 338win

Minimum Elk Caliber. what do you think it is.
If you have tons of opportunities, I’d use anything from the necked down 308 case and up. For morons like me who opportunities are rare. I like the 300s and up. 338 win with 225 gr Barnes will almost go end to end on an elk or moose. Never had to track elk, moose, or caribou that I shot with 338. -
Which western states have been disproportionately good to you in drawing tags?
I have been playing the draw game since 2013. Have not drawn anything with less than 60% odds and I lived in Ak for 6 of those years. My dad on the other hand has drawn Ak bison first time applying and 3 Gila elk tags in the last 20 years.- 338win

Bid a good schedule and got a week off. Bought an unlimited/leftover elk tag in a not to be mentioned state and unit. Found some overlooked areas/access. Are tungsten turkey loads worth the money?
TSS “can” ethically get you to 70+ yards in most 20 and 12 ga with a correct choke. Longbeard XRs in 5s can get you to the 60s. How Far is Too Far? Wyoming Legislature Mulls Shot Distance Restrictions
3 or 4x maximum magnification for modern rifle seasons and make range finders illegal. That “should” eliminate a lot of the long range shots, but plenty of idiots will still send it.- 338win
