It was covered by insurance, so it was them that got screwed, if someone did, not her. Regardless, even your numbers are absolutely insane for a tailgate, in my opinion. $3000+ is nuts.
Wasn't my pickup or my quote, so I guess we'll never know for sure. I have no reason to believe my neighbor was lying to me, so I believe her. You don't know or have any reason to trust me though, so I get it. It certainly sounds insane. Keep in mind that a tailgate replacement for these also...
From the factory, a 2001 Ford F250. Don't buy a new truck. Costs way more than they're worth to buy and fix. You can replace the entire drivetrain on a 20 year old pickup with brand new components and end up spending half the money and have a more reliable, simpler and less expensive to maintain...
I see. Think it'll get anywhere? I have to admit that there is a bit of a selfish element to my opinion on some of this stuff. I have the fitness level and stubbornness and am willing to go places and do things while hunting that most folks aren't. I've killed an elk every year (5 years) that...
Idaho is talking about "adding" a center fire, open sights only season in some areas. I kinda wonder if the thought is to start by "adding" it and then slowly transitioning more of the any weapons season to that. If that's the goal, I think I'd be ok with it.
That's a thought. Even if they did that though, there would still be educational content available online. I have mixed feelings about it. I am certainly a beneficiary of internet instructional videos. I had no one from whom to learn about hunting growing up. My dad didn't hunt. We knew a few...
I agree with all but the silencers. They're old tech that would be a standard item on hunting rifles today if some misguided politicians 90 years ago wouldn't have made them prohibitively expensive to get. They don't increase efficacy in any way, unlike the other items on your list.
I think that AI is one of the worst things to have ever happened to mankind, up there with the black death, only worse. I would be very strongly in favor of banning it's use in any form for hunting purposes.
In short, yes to both. I'm far from an elk expert, but I have multiple bulls on camera using the same wallow. The wallow has been in use for at least the 3 years since I found it. Not just bulls either. Cows, calves whitetails, bears, bobcats, ravens, rabbits, skunks and squirrels all have used...
I was having a discussion with a friend the other day and he was unaware that suppressors were legal for big game hunting in Idaho. I know they've been legal for at least the five years that I've lived and hunted here, but it got me wondering. Were they ever illegal for hunting here? If so, when...
Sunstar, if you want to go ultra efficient. I live off grid and rely on solar and generator for electricity, so efficiency is critical. They're more expensive but use less than a fifth of the power of the same size conventional freezer.
For purposes of that sort of thing "light truck" typically means anything under 14,000 GVW, so all pickups and one tons, basically. Heavy trucks are ones over 26,000 GVW and bungees for them are typically going to be far too large in diameter for use on a pickup.
