I saw your post saying unit 56 was good for mule deer. My friend and I bought general season tags in unit 56. We're from the Arkansas Delta, so we're used to hunting deer in thick woods. We are excited just to go. We're fine with eating tag soup. We'd rather do that than trying to take a far shot and wounding a deer or shooting the first young buck we see. An tips for what we need to be prepared for?

Hey I think you posted on an old post of mine from 2014, We are coming back to Idaho unit 49 again this year and are just trying to confirm the roads we are planing on taking and hopfully not having any suprises like a gated off area the cuts us short.
