Oh my bad, no it’s not a true preference. Blackbeard was right the number of points on the left number of applicants center and successful applicants right. I’m not sure if they cube those points or not. They’re called preference points but they run like a bonus point.- ZBB

@grizzly63 I think that’s the only wr unit that only has any deer tags no any whitetail. @Jm84 there’s some nice deer in there, you might stumble on one right away but I’d think you could be a little picky especially with how they’ve restricted archery hunters in there. I can’t speak to what... -
Generosity to non-residents
South Dakota already does 8% of deer tags, in the initial draw. They’ll never give elk tags away to non residents other than maybe a hunt for habitat raffle. The odds are terrible for residents already for any elk and any deer.- ZBB
