I
know what you mean by trying new areas, just adds a little bit of something extra suppost be some friend of one of my buddies that said he could hook us up.not sure about what type of hunt he is talking about but Im more of a diy type myself. not sure if this will happen or not but thought...
I may have a chance to elk hunt near Clarkston montana in 2015,anyone have an opinion on this area.
just not sure about leaving our spot in western Colorado for a new spot.
dough boy
was just getting started with the weight loss work-out,fell and busted rotator cuff and am down for a little bit.so instead of losing weight and getting in hunting shape im getting into a couch tater shape.
Hoping to take my kids to Wyoming on an antelope hunt this fall,2014.They will be 12 and 14 years old and have been wanting to come out west for years.
My question,I need advice on an unit that will be almost a sure thing on drawing a tag.I have hunted unit 50 before, would this be a good pick...
gps-garmin 62s,very good unit and can down load about anything you can think of,also on sale at cabelas not for very good price.
pad-thermo rest neo-air,very lite weight and compact but use a ground cover under it.
bag-0 degree from cabelas.they have several models and if you live near a store...
check out areas near Yampa and Steamboat Springs have hunted both.Lots of sign and heard some bugles just seemed to always be to far behind when it counted.
bundle
just bought the 62s bundle from cabelas, seems like a nice unit.havent had a chance to get in the mountains with it yet,but really like the birds eye that comes with it and the color screen is really nice compared to my old black and white.
Drew mule deer, hope for better luck than in the past.buy elk tag when we get to cedaredge.
remember, tag soup not to bad when shared with good friends after a long week in elk country!!!
Looking to get new GPS this summer,I like the Montana series units because of screen size. This is not the only option Im looking for in a good GPS.
Any suggestions or advice would be helpful.
Dont get in a rut by sticking with the same spot.Be willing to move to a different area after hunting and not finding elk in your honey hole after 2 or 3 days, especially when there is snow on the ground and no tracks.
Did this same thing this season in an area we had killed elk on several hunts...
Been hunting same spot in weatern Colorado for a few years and would like to try a new spot, maybe around Steamboat Springs area. Will be archery hunting with OTC tags.Any advice will be helpful. Thanks
