I had a barrel that shot really well cut from 24" down to 18" and threaded. It shoots better now. Part of that could be harmonics/whatever and part of it could be that shooting suppressed is so much nicer.
Another update on Tikka, now 8 months old.
Christmas Day goldeneye
Second shed she’s found all on her own. Last year’s antler.
She was proud of it and I was proud of her
Really looking forward to shed hunting this spring, training through summer, and her first real waterfowl hunts in the...
Took my 6 month old lab pup Tikka with me to look for elk. I was glassing when she came over with this in her mouth. Had to have her pose for a picture. I’ve been hiding sheds I’ve found on the woods around the house for her and she’s been doing good with that. This is her first shed on her own...

Put this in public land because it’s a huge chunk of publicly accessible ground. Didn’t figure SPP would hold onto this for long. I personally...
100% Norway Maple. Lumber falls into soft maple category so if you can make a bow out of that, your good to go. Seems like all of the city trees in Kalispell are maple or ash. Ash would be a good choice if a neighbor has one down.
Had a slow start to the season, couldn't turnup many bears. When I started to find some they all were sows with cubs. One sow had 3 cubs with her. Still pretty fun to watch.
My hunting partner wasn't much help glassing....
Had to wake her to tell her to put her orange on over her puffy instead...
I'm still leery. Sounds like a buy and flip deal. For what they paid it wouldn't be hard to make a huge profit breaking it up into smaller chunks. I hope I'm wrong though.
That said, breaking it up could make it more affordable to conservation organizations, state, Stimson, etc. that couldn't...
This is what worries me. Especially when I hear private investment company. I work/worked in timber and land management for my career. I've seen this happen many times in the east. Timber company let's people recreate for free or nominal fee, sells the land, then the next owner realizes the...
I know this isn't technically a public land issue, but it is an access issue. Weyerhaeuser has maintained an open lands policy in Montana, making hundreds of thousands of acres accessible to the public for hunting, fishing, and recreation. The news release says that 110,000 acres is under a...

They won the bid, but it looks like they'll still need to come up with the money. With the payments, performance bond, and liability...
