I was hoping that wasn't the case. I know the orange army is thick here in the northeaster part of the state, and was hoping the rut was after rifle season ended. I'm thinking either Beaver River or Rita Blanca for an archery hunt.
When do you guys in NE New Mexico and SE Colorado typically start seeing rutting activity with muleys? Watching Big Fin's show I see him hunting the rut around the second week in November in Montana. I'm curious if they're like whitetail and rut later in the year the further south you go.
I am an Oklahoma resident on a budget. So public land archery mule deer is my goal. I have been looking at Beaver River and the Rita Blanca on google maps. I have heard there are mulies on Black Kettle, but harvest reports show highest numbers in the panhandle.

New member of the forum looking for some advice. This year I am going after black bear on public land this fall here in Oklahoma. This will be my first bear hunt, and looking for any tips I can get for going after bear in the Ouachita National Forest. I'll be hunting with trad gear...
