Same here. Only difference is in recent years I tied a little ball of serving on the string that touches the tip of my nose for another reference. Never had any problems with consistency or accuracy.
Been using this ourselves for the past few years. Works great and a hot shower every night at base camp recharges you for the next day. Wouldn’t go without anymore.
I really like my AGC Hybrid Max. It’s extremely comfortable and has some extra pockets/storage space for a few small items. It doesn’t get in the way shooting my bow and stays in place when I need to move quickly.
I’d stick to the same area. Although my crew has been skunked for 4 years , each year we hunted the same area our opportunities increased with several close calls. Had to hunt a new area this year due to fires and my group really struggled. We eventually saw elk but spent a lot of time trying to...
My niece has a stock Infinite Edge and has taken several deer with it. She probably shoots it better than most hunters that start shooting their higher end bows a month before season. Not saying more expensive accessories don’t help but I’ve found there’s no substitute for practice. I practice...
I played around with different stabilizers/weights over the years and ended up putting my old 6 inch limb saver back on for a little dampening. The longer ones actually hurt my consistency a bit. That said, a couple of my hunting partners shooting improved quite a bit with longer stabilizers. We...
I go with the inexpensive Coast or Energizer headlamps. Batteries last just as long as my hunting partners expensive headlamps and the light is plenty adequate for tracking or getting in and out of the woods.
I was in the same boat and chose archery. The most exciting hunting I’ve ever done. I’m 0 for 4 on harvesting and can’t wait for September. Just interacting with elk during the rut makes the hunt worthwhile.
Colorado Hunting Atlas should have everything you’re looking for. Play around with the layers and you’ll find a plethora of information. https://ndismaps.nrel.colostate.edu/indexM.html?app=HuntingAtlas
I’ve done quite a bit of shooting and in my experience you won’t notice a difference. Even when long range shooting your point of impact should remain unnoticeable.
