    I hunt big open field of NW Oklahoma and Texas. I keep a xl box call with me and use a diaphragm once they get in close. Thanks for the input. I won’t be using pop up. I don’t ever do that anyways.

    Would the Custer be a viable Bear option? My bro in law was planning on taking his wife on an OTC bear hunt this spring. The terrain looks like something she could handle. She will be 4 months Preggo on the trip

    I've never had an issue with a 130-grain fusion bullet. Deader than dead at 300 yards.

    6.5 Grendel load for deer?

    I shoot Hornady Black 123 eld match. Very accurate. It's great for deer and hogs. I'd limit my shots on deer with this round to 200 and under though. I would use a bonded or copper bullet for further shots. We actually did a necropsy on the round.

    I have looked at the harvest stats and hunter stats. They seem to be in line with most OTC units I've hunted. There will be 3 or 4 of us. We have pulled elk out of the Cliffs of unit 65 northeast our Ouray.. I didn't think anything could be worse than that! Does this trail become impassable...
