    2016 GOP Platform?

I think what we need to keep in mind is that it does not matter who the President is. If it is in the platform, Congress can work to push through the agenda. My guess would be amendments onto bills that need to pass. Our best defense is to keep the amendments from even making it to the floor for...

    2016 GOP Platform?

Saw this and can't help but wonder how far outside the fringes is this movement really? I know it will still need to be voted at convention, but it is gaining ground fast. Coming from a state with something like 97% private lands, I know the struggle once you go looking for a place to hunt or...

    OTC Mule or Pronghorn

I would like some info on states where getting OTC licenses is doable. I am not particular about species but have seen from the start of research I am doing that Deer is more common. I don't mind doing the legwork to track down info, especially as I have time. Not able to go this year but will...

    More CWD Confirmed in Texas

I don't think we are at the point of panic yet. I do think that there are some small things that can be done to limit moving deer around the state. We should rely on the experts of CWD to provide direction and not get caught up in every headline. We should be aware of those headlines though.

    New here, from TX

Thanks so much! I can certainly appreciate your approach to hunting in this state. I don't pay for lease myself and like you work to be able to shoot. I am a bit of a late starter, only been hunting about 8 years. In that time I have relied on management goals to harvest all my deer. I have...

    More CWD Confirmed in Texas

There is enough horsepower in the economic engine of deer breeding to push it through almost anything in this state. I at least hope that TPWD can stay on top of the transfer of deer from one pen site to another.

    Florida Bear Hunting

I have never hunted Bear but came across this. Seems no Bear hunting in Florida this season. http://www.gohunt.com/read/life/florida-abandons-science-to-shut-down-bear-hunting

    New here, from TX

Welcome! Just recently joined myself but already blown away by the amount of information on this site. I am in the San Antonio area here, have access to a lease but gonna start using the public land in the state to increase my harvest each year.

    More CWD Confirmed in Texas

Unfortunately Texas has more than a few captive deer in the state.
