Exactly. And after 22 years. That cost $18.19/year “extra” for one of the finest optical instruments made, and one used in incredibly unforgiving environments. Not much lasts forever and there is no blanket “free” repair. Use some common sense and be reasonable.

Hard to get anything to shoot over an inch in any barrel I have for the R8; 243, 264, 300, and 375. I’ve got a safe full of other rifles I never shoot anymore. Very happy with the Blaser.
A good .270 can do perfectly what 99.9% of North American hunters need. Mine have taken everything from antelope to Alaska Yukon moose. All time great.
If you need help outside the extended family, I’d lend a hand. I volunteer to help for the handicapped hunt at Shiawassee and have some family visits scheduled Thanksgiving week and Christmas but am all for proper deer management. I’ve shot all the MI bucks I ever need.

I’d make a good old .270 BUT…I would set it up with a fast twist barrel to shoot a heavy Berger or LRAB and that would also be good for monos. Market it as such and show what THE old dog ca do with the new tricks as it turns 100 years old.

The .264WM kicks a$$. While a M70 is the holy grail, mine is a Blaser R8. Crushed mountain goat and musk ox with 140g Remington core lokt factory loads before settling on a load using 142g Accubond LR and a pile of 7828 to take Muley, Stika, and WT deer along with a desert sheep. Western...
