We turned up a sow and cub at 400 yds around 3,000 ft first day out (4/13) mid morning. We met two hunters that evening they harvested a boar about 3-4 miles down the same canyon we were hunting. Expecting to see more activity next trip out. 🤞Great start to the season!- Smokeybarrel

Well said. I love the Roosevelt quote BTW. I've spent some time in the sawtooths and pioneers chasing mule deer and elk, and have seen bear. I would likely go west- towards the Snake River, my two cents.- Smokeybarrel

Tag sales 1 December 2022
I stayed in the virtual que for 7hrs. Although it wasn't a surprise the general Elk tags we were after sold out before we got in, 4 of us non-res did get general deer tags in our desired unit. I'd call it success all considering the wait.- Smokeybarrel

The mallards weren't necessarily fishy, we just didn't see a abundance of them. I'd definitely say the majority of the other ducks we took off the salt were quite fishy. I started smoking them into duck jerky. Wikiup and Crane may hold some birds. Learning curve this year.- Smokeybarrel
