    One deer was shot inside 50 yards. Double lung pass thru. The bullet appeared to have doubled in size with a larger exit wound. Deer got back up, ran thirty yards or so and tipped over.     .308 users, what’s your go to hunting load?

    150 grain Barnes TSX Boat tail 46.0 Grains IMR 4064 (Top end of safe pressures in my rifle. Make sure to work up any load in your rifle.) 2940 FPS average at 70 F. A few Mule deer, Elk out to 480 yards. and an antelope.

    My daughter always took charge of the grinder when meat processing was underway. To this day, if I send her a picture of my wife at the grinder, she will respond with, "Hey, that's my job". 😂 Great memories being made.

    Lightning Trees

    ThisThis tree was hit just three hundred yards from our camp while The Northstar was trying to sleep. I packed in the next morning and we checked out the damage. Roots ten to twenty feet from the base of the tree had the bark blown off and exposed the roots as well.

    Hoping to get my first handgun pronghorn with my TC Contender next year in Wyoming. Did you use a bipod/tripod to help steady shot or are you some kind of handgun ninja. :)

    Idaho Antelope - Mid Sept. Idaho Mule Deer General Season - Most of Oct. Idaho Cow Elk -Early Nov. Rest of Nov. and Dec. Chasing Chukar Gotta love my first hunting season as a retired teacher. Finally get to hunt during the weekdays for weeks at a time.
