2025 spring bear thread
Harvested my first black bear last week. Warden estimated the sow to be 6-8 yr old when a tooth was pulled for precise aging. No signs of lactation this year. Probably an average 5 ft. bear from what my brother-in-laws told me.- samuel_284Win

300 Win Mag ammo for elk.

Carnivore Diet Options While Hunting
I am in the same boat as you as I have leaned in to the keto/carnivore diet and have loved the simplicity and health benefits. What are you currently reloading?
Assuming muzzle velocity and powder charge? The ladder test for my rifle showed that the accuracy of 3 shot-groups was best (0.4 MOA at 100 yards) at 75.5 gr of RL-26. My GeoBalistics app shows an estimated velocity of 2080 fps at 600 yards so I am confident fast enough from 0-600 yards to...- samuel_284Win

Reloaded some 300 Win Mag target and hunting ammo a few nights ago with my brother-in-law. On the left: Nosler 210 gr RDF with 78.24 gr of H1000, COAL of 3.49, FPS of ~ 2960 On the right: Barnes 175 gr LRX with 75.5 gr of RL-26, COAL of 3.47, FPS of ~ 3090 Mag well is a touch over 3.5 so...- samuel_284Win
