It almost time to focus 2025 draw results, but I'm finally reporting back on my sheep hunt.
This was my post after I drew the tag last year on the thread, ***OFFICIAL*** 2024 FALL GOAT/SHEEP THREAD:

My 1st sheep tag is official; it came in the mail a couple of weeks ago...
Had sheep burgers last night, was good. My I took the front shoulders and scraps to the shop down the street.
They added 10% beef fat. I think a little more would be better. Pork fat would be interesting.
My 1st sheep tag is official; it came in the mail a couple of weeks ago. Desert Sheep in the south part of the state. With 29 points, drawing the tag was not a surprise, but I'm very excited to have the chance. Went down in May to look around while it was still cool. Big, lonely country. Very...
gavindibb,
Thanks for posting on your hunt! I was in that country in 2021.
The pics of you and the ram are soo cool; the country and a great ram! Congrats.
Congrats on the ram and the adventure with your father and brother. Awesome.
That country in inspiring and also humbling. Thanks for sharing your story.
Great report and loved the photos. I was on that unit with a friend this year. Beautiful intimidating country. That's a great ram. Glad it turned out so well for you!
As a non-resident you need to be one of the lucky non-residents, and also one of the lucky (res and non-res) applicants on the unit you put in for. Tough to do, but I am sure glad my pal put in last year. :)
None. But I have one waiting for me. I have max points on desert sheep in Utah, pretty much a guarantee any unit with 2 or more tags.
My drew son Cali sheep resident Idaho on first try, 1/50 odds.
