I highly recommend McGowen barrels regardless of what caliber you decide to go with. I just rebarreled a 30-06 with one of there barrels and I haven’t shot over a 1” group at 100 yet. My best group was .393”.

As long as you’re using correct caliber and can get the bullet down the tube you should be good to go! Clean every few shots or when it seems difficult to get the bullet down.
I’ve never tried the hornadys but I shot a hog with a 165gr federal fusion in my 30-06 it killed the hog but the damage to the hog was minimal. Exit wound was about as big as the entrance shot was around 75 yards. Didn’t seem to do much expanding.
