Great question: I just got my OTC elk tag for the salmon area yesterday. The online system is interesting, but it was effective if you plan right. You can log in 15 minutes early and be put in a queue and then wait till your turn comes. I hit the button exactly at 9:45 and was #2387 or...
At the risk of opening a can of worms. I have long been a fan of the 270 Winchester. I like Tikka, Savage, Browning. The 270 has killed every game animal in North America and has a softer recoil man bigger calibers. The 130 grain bullet is flat shooting and has good knock down power. And I...
I have wood stocks on my rifles but they are older. I personally like the way they look. I like some of the composite stocks. The Browning X-Bolt Hells Canyon seems like a quality stock. I think go with what you like.
I have a Savage 110 in 270 and love it. I have mine topped with a Vortex Strike Eagle ffp scope. It is q great combo for me. The Tikka is also a great rifle. I have shot both and think you would be happy with either.
Great rifle and a great caliber. 270 Winchester has killed everything in north america.. shot placement is the key. Good glass choice. I think you will love the combo.
