Private land New Mexico elk tags

I don't know if anyone is interested, but I have a friend who guides in SW New Mexico that has a few left over tags for both bull and cow in the Quemado area of SW New Mexico( areas 15, 12, 13 ). He says he is willing to make a deal on them as they run out as of Jan. 1. I'm not sure how he did...

NM Deer

Have not hunted that unit, but lived there for many years while working in the oilfield there, I built oilfield locations and maintained roads in area for 6 years and know the area very well, southern part has more nontypical deer than i've ever seen anywhere, most hunters tend to gravitate...

Moon Phase

Just curious as to which moon phase all of you experienced hunters feel is the best for hunting mulies ?

NM Deer

lucky you, and me, I too drew a Tag for 2B this year. Miracles do happen! Maybe I'll see you there. Lived there for many years. One thing about it, there is great access, oil field roads everywhere.

NM elk hunt

Any of the 16's, 15, 13. These are probably best in state for big bulls, 12 is also good, but quite a bit of private ground, there is blm land in this unit and elk are plentiful. With a blm map you could do alright. There are many areas in NM with good elk numbers but you can't beat the Gila.
